Ucom acted as a strategic technology partner of the annual cybersecurity competition “Capture the Flag 2025” (CTF), held at the High-Tech Accelerator of the “Engineering City” under the theme “AI Apocalypse.
The cybersecurity competition brought together professionals and students in the field, who competed for 24 consecutive hours to uncover software vulnerabilities, analyze malware, and solve complex challenges related to the security of artificial intelligence (AI) systems.
This year’s competition featured 56 teams and 250 participants, who tackled tasks based on real-world scenarios tasks designed to strengthen analytical thinking and rapid response skills.
After an intense 24-hour battle, the winning teams were announced: the AIN team became the overall winner by capturing the most flags, while teams HIGH5 and LAPS took second and third place, respectively.
“At Ucom, we believe that cybersecurity forms the foundation of any modern technological ecosystem. The rapid advancement of artificial intelligence only underscores its growing significance. This is precisely why initiatives of this kind must remain ongoing: they foster an environment in which young specialists can gain genuine, hands-on experience and build confidence in their abilities. We are confident that professionals equipped with such skills will play a key role in driving the country’s digital progress,” said Ralph Yirikian, General Director at Ucom.
“This year’s AI APOCALYPSE theme clearly highlighted that the challenges posed by artificial intelligence have already become an integral part of our reality. The success of the competition once again proved that Armenia has a strong cyber-savvy generation with vast potential and opportunities for growth. We are delighted to see how our young professionals tackle real and complex problems, demonstrating a high level of knowledge and preparedness. The CTF continues to serve as an important platform that contributes to strengthening Armenia’s national cyber resilience,” said Mari Barseghyan, Head of the “CYHub Armenia” cybersecurity initiative of the Enterprise Incubator Foundation and Director of Microsoft Innovation Center Armenia.
It should be noted that the event was organized by the Enterprise Incubator Foundation within the framework of its “CYHub Armenia” cybersecurity initiative, in collaboration with the “Engineering City” program.
